KEY FEATURES & BENEFITS:
Featuring 9 time-tested botanicals, our plant-based Purification Powder provides a holistic gateway to achieving strong and radiant hair. Working in harmony, these ingredients deeply nourish the hair and scalp to encourage optimal shine, growth, and manageability.
Reetha (Sapindus mukorossi) - Also known as Soap Nut or Soapberry, Reetha contains saponins that act as a natural surfactant to gently cleanse both the hair & scalp.
Shikakai (Acacia concinna) - Known for its nourishing and protective properties, Shikakai has long been used in Ayurveda as a natural shampoo and hair pack.
Amla (Phyllanthus emblica) - Also referred to as Indian gooseberry or “amlaki”, Amla provides antioxidants that help to nourish and strengthen both the hair & scalp.
Rose Petals (Rosa Centifolia) - With properties that are anti-inflammatory and PH balancing, Rose Petals help to combat scalp dryness while relieving itchiness.
Hibiscus Flower (Hibiscus sabdariffa) - Rich in amino acids and vitamin C, Hibiscus helps to stimulate healthy hair growth by promoting optimal blood circulation to the scalp.
Neem Leaf (Azadirachta indica) - With its antibacterial and antifungal properties, Neem Leaf encourages a healthy scalp by combating dandruff and dryness.
Holy Basil (Ocimum tenuiflorum) - Rich in antioxidants and vitamin K, Holy Basil nourishes the hair while helping to reduce dandruff and dry scalp conditions.
Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri) - Also known as Water Hyssop or Indian Pennywort, Brahmi is full of alkaloids that help to reduce shedding by strengthening the hair root. It also helps to promote healthy hair growth by augmenting circulation across the scalp.
Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) - With a high content of various nutrients, Fenugreek helps to encourage strength and luster while promoting optimal scalp health & hair growth.

SHAMPOO TEA RINSE INSTRUCTIONS:
- For Short/Thin Hair: Use 1-2 TBSP of Powder with 8-10 oz Distilled Water
- For Long/Thick Hair: Use 3-4 TBSP of Powder with 16-20 oz Distilled Water
1. Using the usage rate instructions above, fill the muslin tea bag with dry Purification Powder. Make sure to securely tie the bag’s drawstrings to avoid content spillage while infusing.
2. Using a large, heat-safe container (preferably thick glass), pour boiling water over the filled tea bag and allow to infuse for a minimum of 30 minutes. Stir occasionally to promote a stronger infusion.
3. Before proceeding, check the temperature of the tea to ensure it's not too hot. Once a comfortable temperature is reached, remove the tea bag from the infusion and gently squeeze to capture any remaining liquid. Please note: the remaining liquid squeezed from the bag may have a slightly thicker consistency. This is perfectly normal and helps to add additional strength to the total infusion.
4. Transfer tea infusion to a plastic squeeze bottle (recommended) or another container that’s safe for use in the shower.
5. Gently pour the tea rinse through wet hair, starting at the scalp and working down to the ends. Take extra care during this step to avoid contact with the eyes, as the natural saponins are likely to cause a burning sensation.
6. Once the hair is fully saturated, massage tea through the hair and into the scalp for several minutes. Allow to rest for an additional 3-5 minutes before rinsing out with cool to warm water.
*After infusing, discard the contents of the muslin tea bag in compost. Rinse the bag thoroughly to remove any remaining herb material and allow it to fully dry before reuse.
**Time Saving Tip: This recipe can be doubled or tripled to provide extra tea rinse for use throughout the week. Just be sure to not overpack the muslin tea bag, as this may prevent the herbs from infusing properly. Store excess tea in the fridge for up to 7 days using a clean and airtight glass container.
OPTIONAL INFUSION METHOD FOR AN EXFOLIATING CLEANSE:
For a more aggressive cleanse that works to exfoliate the hair and scalp, use the usage rate and directions as outlined above without using the muslin tea bag (i.e. pour boiling water directly over loose powder). Due to the swelling of herb material when wet, this method may require additional rinsing to fully remove all the herb material from your hair. For an easier rinse, we recommend filtering out at least some of the herb material from the tea before proceeding (we’ve found that a French coffee press works great for this!). If any additional herb material remains, it will fall out over time as your hair dries.
NOURISHING HAIR PACK INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Measure out approximately 3-4 TBSP of Purification Powder into a small bowl.
Slowly add distilled water and mix until a medium-thick paste consistency is achieved.
2. Part the hair into sections, applying the paste directly to the scalp at each section. For easier application, we recommend using an applicator brush for this step.
3. Using circular motions, gently massage paste into the scalp for several minutes to promote circulation.
4. Tie or clip hair up (if applicable) before covering with a hair cap to encourage warmth around the scalp.
5. Allow the paste to rest for 15-20 minutes before rinsing out with cool to warm water.
*Please note: additional rinsing may be required to fully remove all the herb material from your hair. If any additional herb material remains, it will fall out over time as your hair dries.
**Pro Tip: Use rice water as your liquid of choice when making the paste for additional hair-nourishing benefits. You can also add raw honey if desired for an added boost of hydration, manageability, and nourishment.
